Watch: Petrol attendant beaten during 'unprovoked' attack

The videos show Johannes Monyela, 33, being assaulted at a Sasol petrol station in Tzaneen on Saturday night just before midnight.

In the first video, Monyela can be seen servicing a red car that had pulled up to the petrol station. Monyela exchanges words with a passenger who tries to grab his hat. Monyela pulls back but another passenger gets out the vehicle and follows, attacking him.

The driver of the vehicle tries to break up the fight with little success.

In the second video the fight moves into the changing room when Monyela runs inside to escape his assailants. He is forced to the ground and repeatedly beaten by the two passengers, with the driver trying to get between the men and Monyela. A security guard also tries to intervene unsuccesfully.
