Woman dies after being hit by train in Florida

A woman who tried to cross a railway line was killed after being struck by a train in Florida‚ west of Johannesburg.

The woman‚ aged in her 30s‚ was found lying next to the tracks by paramedics who were flagged down by members of a local community policing forum on Tuesday evening.

“Paramedics assessed the woman and found that she had sustained multiple‚ fatal injuries. Unfortunately‚ nothing more could be done for the patient and she was declared dead on scene‚” said emergency medical service ER24.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
