Girl pulled out from a collapsed Building in Italy as earthquake kills 247

 Saletta, Italy (CNN)There have been few glimmers of hope since an earthquake struck central Italy on Wednesday, bringing down entire villages. But rescuers pulled a little girl from a mountain of rubble overnight, and hope returned for more survivors in the devastating quake that has already claimed at least 252 lives.

It was like finding a needle in a haystack -- rescuers in Amatrice heard something beneath the mounds of broken concrete,

 They saw the survivor, identified later as Giorgia.
A firefighter in Amatrice clawed at the rubble, trying to get to a little girl.
"Come on... Come on. Slowly, slowly. Mind her head," they say to one another as onlookers applaud in support.
