Baby suffers worst chickenpox docs had EVER SEEN - 'after being turned away from GP'
A little boy who was hospitalised for five days with what doctors said was the worst chickenpox they had EVER SEEN was allegedly turned away by a GP's receptionist just 48 hours earlier.
Jasper Allen, who is just two, had to get hospital care for his severe chickenpox when the unsightly sores which covered every inch of his body became severely infected.
But mum Sarah Allen claims that it was just two days before when she was refused an appointment at her local GP surgery because a receptionist doubted the severity of Jasper's condition.
The mum-of-two is now calling on the government to make a vaccination against the disease - currently only available to certain children on medical grounds - free for all on the NHS.
The 36-year-old nursery manager said: "I was one of those parents who couldn't wait for my two to get chickenpox so then it was out of the way - I didn't think there was any harm in letting him get it.
